Welcome to my blog!

Hello! My name is Ava Miskic, I am 19 years old, and I am in my second year of the Bachelor of Commerce program here at UVic. I am originally from Calgary, Alberta and I decided to pursue a business degree at UVic due to its many co-op opportunities, exchange program, and of course the beautiful location of the campus.

Growing up in Calgary, with the Rocky Mountains only a short drive away, I developed a love for the outdoors from a young age. My winters were spent skiing at my family cabin, and my summers spent frequently biking and hiking. That passion for nature played a big role in my decisions to study at UVic. While I’ve always lived near the mountains, moving to Victoria gave me the chance the experience something new, living close to the ocean.

Throughout my Bachelor of Commerce degree so far, I’ve learned a lot about how social media can impact business in both positive and negative ways. Social media is such a powerful tool we have available to us so easily, and I have a goal to learn more how to use it to my advantage. This course interested me as I am interested to learn more about how I can use social media in a way that will further advance my future studies in my commerce degree as well as my future career in the business world. In my free time here in Victoria I love to go on walks and hikes, hangout with friends, go for bike rides, and study at different coffee shops.
